Banquet & Lodging:

We are thrilled to be offering a banquet this year! The Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor is offering Winter Games participants a reduced overnight room rate and will be hosting our banquet. In years past we have been hosted by Black Bear Inn in Orono. They have had a management change and we were looking for a closer location to the games. The Hilton has been very accommodating and we are looking forward to our time there!

Date & Time: 2/13, Dinner at 6:00-7:30pm, Dance 7:30 till 9pm with DJ Jeff!

Banquet Tickets: Tickets are $20 per person.

Dinner will be a pasta bar (bolognese, creamy pesto, creme Rosa, marinara or alfredo), salad, breadsticks and dessert.

Purchase banquet tickets online here by 1/26. We need to provide an accurate head count by 1/26, tickets will not be available at the door. Tickets that have been reserved and paid for will be given to HODs at Winter Games.

Lodging: Overnight 2/13-2/14 at the Hilton Garden Inn Bangor. We have been offered the reduced rate of $115 (usually $214) for a double queen room. Please contact Wendy for the overnight discount code needed for the reduced rate, wegaskum@gmail.com. We are asking teams to book and pay for this directly with the Hilton by 1/26.

Mickey Award:

Mickey Boutilier was the Founder of Special Olympics Maine.  He often came to our Area Winter Games and enjoyed seeing and talking with all the athletes.  The Mickey Award is given to an athlete who has displayed some or all of the following of Mickey’s traits:
