Special Olympics Maine creates opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to compete, grow, lead, stay healthy, build friendships, and belong.

From year-round sports to health and wellness, leadership, schools, and community programs, everything we do is built around one goal: creating a more inclusive Maine where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Unified Champion Schools®

Inclusion starts early. Unified Champion Schools® brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together through Unified Sports®, inclusive youth leadership, and whole-school engagement.

Young Athletes™

Big beginnings start with play. Young Athletes™ introduces children ages 2–7, with and without intellectual disabilities, to basic sports skills while building confidence, friendships, and a love of being active.

Athlete Leadership

Athletes aren’t just participants—they’re leaders. Athlete Leadership provides opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to develop their skills, find their voice, and take meaningful leadership roles within Special Olympics and their communities.

Health & Wellness

Healthier athletes are stronger athletes on and off the field. Our health and wellness programs provide fitness opportunities, health education, Healthy Athletes® screenings, and resources designed to support the whole person.

Camp Tall Pines

A place to relax, connect, and make memories. Located on Lower Range Pond in Poland, Camp Tall Pines provides vacation and recreation opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities throughout the year.
