Special Olympics Unified Sports® brings people with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team. Athletes and Unified Partners train, compete, and celebrate side by side, building friendships, confidence, and more inclusive communities.

Unified Sports in Maine
Special Olympics Maine offers Unified competition in:

- Athletics
- Bocce
- Bowling
- Golf
- Soccer
- Softball
- Swimming
- Tennis
Teams compete at area and state competitions throughout the year.
Through our partnership with the Maine Principals’ Association, middle and high school students participate in Unified Volleyball, Basketball, and Bocce seasons that promote teamwork, leadership, and inclusion.
Schools can also implement Unified Physical Education and Unified Fitness programs.
