Kick off the New Year by taking the plunge for inclusion! The Lobster Dip is Special Olympics Maine’s largest single-day fundraiser, bringing together hundreds of participants and spectators every January 1 at The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach.
Whether you’re diving into the Atlantic Ocean, cheering from the shore, or supporting a favorite dipper, every splash helps provide free year-round sports, health, leadership, and inclusion opportunities for more than 5,000 athletes across Maine.

The Lobster Dip is more than a plunge into the ocean- it’s a celebration of community, courage, and inclusion.
Each year, individuals, families, businesses, members of Law Enforcement, and community groups come together to start the New Year by making a difference. Costumes, teamwork, laughter, and a little bit of bravery make this one of Maine’s most anticipated New Year’s Day traditions.
