Special Olympics Maine is excited to announce a paid, part-time job opportunity for a Special Olympics Maine athlete—the Athlete Leadership & Operations Assistant.

This role is designed for an athlete who wants to share their voice, build leadership skills, and play an active role in shaping the future of athlete leadership in Maine. The Athlete Leadership & Operations Assistant will work alongside Special Olympics Maine staff to support athlete leadership programs, help guide group discussions and trainings, and represent the athlete perspective in meetings with staff, board members, and community partners.

Position Details

  • Location: Special Olympics Maine Office (South Portland)

  • Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week (set schedule determined upon hire)

  • Eligibility: Must be a Special Olympics Maine athlete

This position is a great fit for an athlete who enjoys working with others, sharing ideas, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive team. No advanced computer experience is required—just a willingness to learn and a positive, reliable attitude.
